Omkara: Lessons for Life
It's too late to write a review of the movie which has already been talked about in so much detail. I guess it suffices to say that probably it was the only movie in which I liked Kareena "Dolly" Kapoor. Vivek "Kesu" Oberai was tolerable and the rest of the cast simply rocked. Omkaara is one of my all-time-favourites. And yes... despite the four-letter words.
Here I list down the lessons which some of the known figures of history would have liked us to draw.
Machiavelli: Balance of power should always be maintained. Had Kesu not been promoted undeservedly and Langda been rewarded suitably for his loyalty the latter would not have turned a schemer.
Marx: Disparities in economic status are detrimental to the society and its individuals. Had Indu not been poor she would not have stolen the waist chain and none of tragic incidents would have taken place.
Mahatma Gandhi: Lie is the root of all evil. Had Dolly been truthful to Omi and not tried to hide the fact that the waist chain was missing, Omi would have never doubted her of having an affair with Kesu.
And now it's my turn: Undesrtanding the problem is half the solution; understanding yourself is solving all the problems forever. Had Omi tried to understand himself and his insecurities, there would have been no problem.
And before this post ends... a sincere request and the biggest lesson: Please don't leave your mobile phone unattended. Happy living.
